How far out west did you go? Past that big dune is miles and miles of trails.

 

Does anyone have a good mechanic that does timing belts? Dealer quoted me $500 just for labor...

 

Silas did his timing belt in his driveway one afternoon when I stopped in so I don't think it is that hard.

Larry H Miller down on I-40 and Eubank did mine and seem to recall the labor was about the same.

 

I read that it's not that hard but there are two tools and a 210lb torque wrench I would have to get, if all else I'll just buy the tools I guess. $500 just seems too steep for a the quoted 4 hour job!

 

Might want to ping Silas to see if he has the tools still. I should have a torque wrench that'll go that high.

 

I think I have a 200+ torque wrench as well, and I am right here in Santa Fe You have a belt, or a chain?

actually, I was assuming he was doing the timing belt on his 4Runner. Same engine though.

 

I want a 4Runner Some day...some day.....

 

I wanna make my truck into a 4Runner someday. Maybe if I roll it again

 

3rd gen 4runners go for pretty cheap around these parts. I've been considering one but with all the mods in the truck, not in a hurry.

 

Yeah pretty sure you could've gotten a trail rig worthy T4R for the price of the supercharger/7th injector.

 

Which I would've wanted to slap on it.

I can still get one. Just a hell of a lot of work transferring everything over.

 

I still want my Taco for hauling stuff - I do a LOT of home improvement and the like, so always loading up building materials. But I'd love to add a 4Runner to my cramped driveway. My boy has all the appearances of hitting well over 6' in height, so won't be able to cram him into the ext cab for too many more years. I really like the body styling of the 3rd gen Runner too

 

Not too far. Drove around for a couple hours and headed back. I looked up the Rio Puerco Trail and am interested in doing that. Just gotta find someone to go with.
