    Welcome!

I would love to hear about a convoy of Tacomas, and an Xterra, heading for Farmington. I was assuming it would work best for most of you guys in early June when you're out of school but we could certainly do it in April or May if you like.

In July when the snow is gone, I'll do a camping trip up in SW Colorado. I actually do several a year but would gladly help organize one for TW. The Alpine Loop, Black Bear Pass, Cinnamon Pass, and Engineer Pass are all amazing. There are plenty more less famous ones too. Depending on which one you go on the difficulty varies, but a lot of it is just scenic trail drives that girlfriends, wives, and kids could enjoy. There is tons of hiking and even some 14,000 ft peaks off the trail that you could take half a day to go summit.

Yep the guy with the beanie. Farmington would be cool. June or July would be good and a camping trip would be cool cause then I can Just keep heading north to visit the rest of my family. I'll should even have my other jeep done and running by then so my wife can drive her jeep and we'll also have the truck.

Should be fun. Ill keep an eye open for info. I also have some other buddies that would be up for coming that have some tacos.

Modding my wheels as well. painted the fronts yesterday and need to do the rear ones today.

SERIOUSLY? DUDE, I checked this thread, went to sleep, and now it's 3 friggin pages longer. English is my second language, so I can't read that fast!

AND -- ANOTHER thing I'm not being invited to, some poker game up north. Thanks alot. AGAIN.

I got my sliders painted yesterday -- they match the wheels almost exactly, I think it's gonna look badass. Gonna paint the bullbar today and mount the sliders.
STILL WAITING on the word for my duratracs, I think hopefully by next week. Now that everybody is going lift crazy, and I still have that black card, I may go with an OME setup.... what do you guys think? My yukon was lifted 6''... I dont think I wanna do that again.. I'm out of the huge truck thing.. for now.. So I'll probably just run top plate's and do a 3'' for the taco.. pics to come later today.. thanks again for LEAVING ME OUT.. AND MAKING FUN OF MY CREDIT CARD

:gossip: Secretly I dont think he wants to hang out with us.

haha well either way kevin, but dont you have to be 21 to get in at some point in the night?? or were they just fucking with me and my buddy that one time. :(

but yes camping i love camping!! after i get back form spring break im start working on somethin for my truck just for camping!

farmington would be awesome, we could also do the jemez maybe a little closer for blended :p, but i dont know there is alot of options.

as for the 20th or the 21st dont really know if he would want to do anything a little extreme, cuz he just bought the 4runner and still hasnt drivein it i think he is going to baby it haha

I'm glad to hear there is some interest in both a Farmington trip and a later camping trip through some of those San Juan Mountains' trails.

Any thoughts on Farmington dates? The first weekend of April is Easter so that probably wouldn't be great for most. Is April too early? May better? Jemez trip first? I think people prefer Sundays to Saturdays?:notsure:

The mountain trip needs to be in June at the earliest. Most of those trails are between 9,000 and 12,000 feet elevation. It takes a while for the snow to melt up there.

Alex, I was clicking through your gallery. The picture of Jesus watching you buy porn is about a half mile from my house. My house is even in the line of sight the picture was taken. Farmington is quite conservative. I came from a much more liberal southern California where you would have never seen anything like that. When I moved here and saw it for the first time, I was laughing so hard I nearly wrecked the car.

I'm a teacher. I'm pretty marketable anywhere. When my wife finished her Ph.D., she wanted to be a professor. Higher education only has so many jobs available at any given time and it can be a very specific field based on your sub-field areas of expertise. We are both outdoorsy and wanted to move accordingly. She applied at a few places in Colorado, Oregon, and Washington. She was looking at a particular job in Durango and the noticed this job and that is was at least nearby.

    Here she is:
    http://www.sanjuancollege.edu/pages/1678.asp

Brian Parry, one of the other guys in the pictures is one of my hunting buddies. He has a nice Tacoma with a 6" lift. He's a professor up at Mesa State in Grand Junction now.

Seven years later, here we are. There's a pretty strong chance we won't be here too much longer.

Yup, that's Farmington. If you guys come up here you'll drive right past it. Assuming you take that route.
I would assume it is an 8" but even that doesn't necessarily mean anything. I think there has been variation over the years with turbo 8" and stuff like that. I don't know what parts fit what. There should be numbers on the axle itself. It probably won't say nice and easy "This is an 8". It will most likely be manufacturing code numbers that you could decipher on the Internet. I don't know about Toyota but a lot of brands have code within the vehicle's VIN # itself. If there's a 2 in this spot it means this, an L in that spot means this. That's worth looking up too.

You may even look into finding a used locking Prerunner or Off Road axle. I don't know the cost but if you could find one in the $1000 range, it may even be cheaper than a $700 locker because you could bolt it on yourself and save the $400 labor of installing a locker.

I have class tonight. We'll see how much I can get done. I'm guessing the metal fab will take tonight and next week's class. Then paint and hang them.
