Mt. Charleston Trails?

Hello, I took a journey up to Mt Charleston today to take a look at the views.. WOW!! Very pretty and amazing views.

On the way up on 157 and I noticed some dirt roads that went off and ended up being one vehicle (path, road, or trail).

My question is are these (path, road, or trail) legal to drive on? There were no signs posted any where. So I figured I would ask some local peps on what the etiquette was before I went off and trail blazed and got into some trouble..

Any ideas of places to "trail" in the Vegas area would be great... Have to say that I am a newbie so I have to "crawl" be for I can walk.

Look for threads by Timmer.He has been all over Mt.Charleston.
