I have been advised to the cooling bills. That is the ONE thing wife and I are adamant about, is A/C, was we do not have it currently, and Portland has had about 30 days over 90 degrees. (I know, that is nothing for Vegas !!) Our last trip there in June it was 110+. I could not imagine NOT having A/C in that type of heat.

I was wondering if the drought has affected LV or not. Figured so, but thanks for confirmation. We are also looking for a place with a pool, if it is feasible.

I am looking at Summerlin North. My work is right by the hospital there. I have a 13 year old son who is a baseball junkie, so LV will be great for him! My old boss is still in the area, so he is keeping in the loop for upcoming season, training sessions, etc.

No they don't have an instagram page, I'm not sure why though.

Went out with them on a run to Delamar ghost town and a run to the gypsum cave up north a while back. Recently went on a night run up the north side of Wheeler's Pass and back down the same way. I have a weird schedule and can't make most runs they have scheduled, but they do have some members post up invites for unplanned runs on facebook. Great group of people.

I work IT for Capital One on N Town Center Drive. My site in Portland is closing, so they are relocating me to LV. I should be getting the final paperwork this week. Current house is a beehive of activity getting it ready for market. Amazing what you can accumulate in 12 years. Enough that I am bringing in an 8 Yard dumpster. I will be coming down lean and mean.:D

I agree on the Pahrump side, though I went south over the hump to Blue Diamond. Stopped along the way to check out Mountain Springs Saloon.

I'm still running on stock and the cold springs side is about the limit of what I'll do until I get some armor and a lift. Still pretty fun though.

I don't off road, but up North there is some spots etc. It's only 7 hours to Reno. Stay in one of the cheap casinos. Ely also is a good center point, lotta places I'm sure.

Yeah I grew up just north of Truckee. Tons of places up there and I try to get up there a few times a year to see the family.

You can hunt deer and elk 3 hours north around Pioche, and gets better further north toward Ely. There is rainbow trout and striper fishing south of Hoover Dam on the Colorado at Willow Beach on the AZ side. There is plenty of offroading pretty much any direction from Vegas.

HAHAHA! I have a light, legal Oregon tint now, but could do darker. @samiam, you sir are my hero!!! The deer and elk are plentiful where I hunt in Eastern Oregon. It will just be fucking ODD to have to get an out of state tag for the state I grew up in.

So, window tint refresh is a must. As is new pistol. (dang it!!)

How are the dealers in Summerlin area? (not that they will do much with a taco with a 6" lift. Sure that causes every issue I will come across...) I am severely tool challenged. I have the ability to change my own oils and whatnot, but I have a debilitating laziness issue that precludes me from doing so. Also, wifey has a 14 Rav4 that will need regular service.

I do appreciate all of the tips and advice. Keep em coming! As of now, they want me onsite December 1, so shit is getting real :annoyed:

I had Findlay in Henderson install my S/C and warranty oil changes. So far so good.

Bought and serviced at Findlay. Pretty happy with them, though they will be the farthest from you in summerlin, but worth the drive IMHO.

I'm in Aliante. I haven't tried any others yet but I get good enough service at Findlay that I don't mind heading down there every 5k mi or so for service.
