Anyone want to hit some trails sat. morning at any of the offroad areas near santa clarita (ie rowher flats/hungry valley/etc)? I got a new 3 leaf add a leaf from icon with some 5100's now in the rear and I want to test of the difference.

well im open to any of the spots up there. I found some pretty fun trails that are just north of Gorman, and run to the west into the mountains (kind of by miller jeep trail).

I think rowher flats is out - since you are 4x2.

I am a possibility for this too. Rowher flats you can still do in 2wd, only one trail though:D and you can go down the steep trails. I am down for wherever the OP chooses. What time you gonna meet? 8am? 9am?

well - I found a few really fun (but narrow) trails up lockwood valley road. They go south into the mountains (8N04 to unnamed trail to Lockwood Creek Trail). They are pretty easy when its dry, wind through the brush and cross several small creekbeds. There are only a few spots that a 2wd might have probs. Then the trails get rocky and they climb a bit. Overall i'd say its easy difficulty for a 4wd, prolly medium to hard difficulty for a 2wd. Forcast calls for rain - so it could be either really fun, or a big PITA for 2wd.

Im open to w/e you guys want to do, pm me and I will send you my phone number to discuss. I'd say prolly meet around 8 whereever we decide - to give ourselves enough time to finish at a good hour.

Hungry Valley is the closest and probably the easiest for 2wd, so I'd say either that or the trails I found near Gorman.

Ok well I will be at smoky bear exit at 8:30 am tomorrow off the I-5. From there its either Hungry valley OHV or some free trails near gorman. Anyone is welcome to come - I will adjust my routes if you guys are 4x2.

alright I'm down for Hungry valley or whatever. I have a 2wd without a locker so I might not be able to do that hard trail in the rain. I will meet you up at smokey bear exit at 8:30 then. By the way, do you have a tow strap in case I get stuck? I am usually very good about not getting stuck, but you can't be too careful

night time bump! see you guys in 8 hours! going to bed now.

I actually never bought a real "tow strap" - I'll pick one up in the morning if I have time. If I'm the only 4x4 we might actually need it :-/
