Good question Timmy. From shawnphoto's post, I'm under the impression that the first light layer is used as the primer or base coat. I'll have to clean the heck out of the wheels first, tape them off, and give it a go. HomeDepot sells the stuff for a little over $5.00 a can so...it's not an expensive process, just time consuming.

If it peels off soon after applying it though, it sounds like a big waste of time. So, I would certainly like to make sure it's prepped properly.

I dipped my grill surround and just recently dipped all the plastics on my dirt bike and all I did in both instances was just clean the plastic off. Haven't had any issues yet.....Although keep in mind that it is just plasti dip. Any rock/branch.ect that hits it, will make it peel....

Eh, no point in putting new tires on until you wear out the ones you currently are running.

use rubbing alch to prep, and the initial light layer works as a primer or base coat. when doing badges, make sure you lay it on real thick and get under all the edges of the letters

Can anyone advise me on replacing my Leaf Pack?
I plan on getting Icons up front and lifting the truck 2.5" and would like it to sit level. I want it to be able to handle offroad use for sure but not have to compromise my ride quality that much if at all. I usually don't carry much weight in the bed but would like to be able to have at least a dirt bike in the back without it sagging. Suggestions?

I just installed some OME 52887 front coils and Bilstein 5100s all the way around. I installed the Icon 3 leaf add-a-leaf setup on the rear and left the overload spring in place and I LOVE the ride. I was worried about screwing up the stock ride but it rides BETTER now that before! My only suggestion would be to buy a bunch of the anti-friction pads from Wheeler's off road and install one on each end of a leaf that does not have one (the stock ones already do). This makes them VERY quiet. I also cleaned all of my leafs with denatured alcohol and sprayed them with dry graphite lube. It goes on like spray paint and is dry and does not attract dirt. My leafs are SILENT!

there's a guy in the san diego bs thread who does custom leaf packs that actually work really well. im sure you can search or ask there, they're cheap too.
changed my trans fluid today to redline mt-90, shifts nice and smooth now. letting my buddy drive my truck to school tomorrow while i take his corolla down to sd and back. hahah we'll see how that goes..

Pics!! Glad you enjoy the ride. I kept hearing the word "Stiff" with the aftermarket lifts and made me hesitant. But now I will never go back to stock. How much total lift did you get with the 887/5100 setup? I think my leafs are starting to sag already, I feel like there's an oh-so-subtle bro lean going on.

Pic from today, took about 3.5 hours or so, had to cut the U bolts down which took a little extra. Wouldnt want to do this job without air tools.
