Yeah I like that look. For some reason the more expensive package has color matched mirrors and door handles but I like the flat black accents. I think it is because I have a textured black bumper and wheels though.

    Matt-
When you do your retrofit, think about maybe doing some switchback leds at the same time.
I only say this because I have really reeeally been wanting to do this in my truck because I think it would look really good. I think the best would perhaps be to put the switchbacks along the bottom edge of the headlights lens, from the top corner down to the bottom corner towards the grill. Easiest way is to install when the lens is off anyway for the retrofit.
I've already written a wiring diagram for it because it is something I would really like to do. Just a thought and I would be happy to help.

I haven't been able to find any pictures of it done anywhere so you might be first. If I have the time maybe over spring break I might attempt, I'm just too busy with school and slightly too poor (groceries come first) to pull it off right now.

I've been meening got get one of those for a while now, thanks for the reminder! I've got the dog hammock thing for the back seat that comes with a buckle which I use for the long trips, but I still need to get the harness for the front seat. Even so, I'd really still like to have the seat buckle chime muted. :)

I believe we both attend UCSB. If that's true, we have the same break so this may work. Thanks for the idea!

Has anybody swapped their tail lights? I really want some nicer ones and the ones I have have a huge gash in them from my grandfather crashing. I don't want to break the bank though. I was thinking of just tinting the stock set but I am not sure yet.

I have LED tail lights, but they came on the truck when I bought it. I'm very happy with them. Very bright. Safety third, don't ya know. Honestly, don't waste the cash on tail lights though - just do the least expensive route (whether replacement or LED). Put your money into usable stuff like reinforcement, suspension suspension suspension suspension, tires, etc. Better shocks are more usable than brighter tail lights.

Yep I'm in Bren, masters student.
Unfortunately (but kind of not really) my spring break is going to be spent taking a 3 unit class... in snow and snowpacks at Mammoth.

It is an intensive class but half the time is spent on the mountain skiing and taking samples, and we even get to go out with the avalanche team and set some mother f*cking bombs, and I'm STOKED.

But on a long weekend, we can work something out!

That is so badass. I wish I could take that haha. I think I'm going to take an Earth Science class next quarter that is literally a unit just to go on a camping trip one weekend.

I agree. I was just going for the cheapest good looking replacement. The stock ones on the 07 are just so red and not LED.

If I were to want to mount this 2.5 lb extinguisher in the bed, do you think that the 6 screws on the mount will be enough? I worry that it is too heavy.

    Anybody have any experience?

It'll be fine based on my interior experience. It will likely be stolen from the bed in IV. I've only used an extinguisher once and it was in Baja. While drunk. To put out a fire. Unrelated to the truck. Then we burned it. Sounds odd? Come to Baja sometime haha. Giggity. Do proper wiring and you shouldn't need it. Hack jobs cause fires.
