I never bought anything but food. Haha. The churros are bomb though. Cheap too.

 

They dump all there critical patients over the boarder then call us to get them and we have no idea what happened to them.

 

So they do take them to a hospital in the U.S.? I know they will call a heli for racers or chasers. I wonder why one didn't come for them then if they do.

 

Usually, they take them to the Mexico Hospital first, then when they can't handle them anymore they dump them on the US side (or money runs out) . I guess one patient even had a newspaper clipping of the incident taped to there chest and nothing else. So we have no idea what's wrong with them or what treatment they gave them. Moral of the story don't get seriously hurt in Mexico.

Yea I'm fine. I was shaking when I was there. We stayed for maybe 15 minutes. Once the four were out and the one was for sure dead we just left. Nothing we could do. An off duty paramedic was there and was doing what he could. By the time we left a lot more people had arrived. I went from doing the speed limit to 10 under the rest of the trip I was soo paranoid. While we were waiting on the side of the road for the prerunner and chase truck to bring back the race car we slept on the trailer. We were parked maybe 200ft from the pavement of the highway. I would fall asleep, and then everytime I heard a car coming down the highway I would wake up and look, thinking it was going to fly off the road. That continued for two hours.

 

I am surprised you were able to sleep.

 

Yup. That stuff stays with you for a second. Hey, maybe if it makes you think about speeding in the future, then that's what this has meant for you, you know? Whatever it is. How was the Baja, btw? Really wanted to go this year, but it was so last minute when I knew I could go and the hotel situation... well, you know how that is during the races.

Winter of last year I was driving up to Sacramento by myself around 3am on the i5 in the middle of nowhere. Witnessed a head on collision right in front of me. Driver of 1 car was ejected through the windshield and hit the pavement face first. I almost ran over the body trying to avoid all the debris. A child in the car came out of the car seat and got tossed around along with an elderly lady. The car flipped. Nobody was around to help being the time and location. Being that there wasn't anything I could do for those in the car since they were trapped and needed fire to get them out, all I could so was light some flares and close the freeway because every car that passed couldn't see that something happened and was swerving to avoid all the debris and almost caused another accident every time. It was horrible. The things I saw that night stuck with me for quite some time. Took a few weeks to shake it. Seeing a fatality is never easy. Just hang in there and flashbacks will go away soon enough.

 

My worst CAR accidents? Pretty sure they were when I was a kid. One was a car crashed into a telephone pole and the passenger's scalp was in the windshield. Another on the highway where thy needed a shovel. Years later, watching a car flip on the highway, and upon reaching the vehicle watching the woman convulsing in the backseat since she wasn't wearing a seatbelt. Those three made me reeeeaaaaally think about driving safely in the future.

 

Yeah, few people see that stuff but if you do, it really makes you a better driver in the long run. That and EVOC classes of course

Yea I barely slept. Like I said I woke up every couple minutes.
The race was good. A lot of trophy truck entries. I guess it was a record.

Glad I didn't see those.
