I'm a pilot and if any of you guys want to go checkout some of the local trails in the area by air let me know...we can share costs. Depending on the plane, usually around $120.00 per hour.

Well, we'd be flying for a common purpose, and I'm won't be charging for the flight, just sharing cost, so I don't need a commercial...even though its a slippery slope when it comes to the FAA :boink:

I fly C172/C182 both fixed and retract landing gear and have approx 300 hours. It's fun doing some low/slow mountain flying, however these flights usually take place in the AM as to avoid desert winds

I would like to go checkout some trials, so if anyone is interested, PM me...

You are correct about the butt-hurt sensitive FAA, I worked with a guy years ago that had his commer. license, anyway one time he & his wife had just taken off from Lindbergh , once up she took the controls (which wasn't uncommon I guess) & she asked him if she could fly under the Coronado bridge , he said "Sure, why not." thinking she knew better & wouldn't do it, & before he could say anything else that crazy bitch did just that, flew underneath at mid span HE SHIT HIS PANTS & needless to say was reported to FAA & if i remember right it cost him about $5000 fine & suspended his flying for a year or so....

you're right. it shouldn't be an issue letting an unlicensed pilot fly under bridges! i mean, what a bunch of sourpusses! the faa should have a sense of humor. no harm, no foul.
