i might down as a 4 - 4-1/2 no armor. there is a pismo meet setup for that weekend but i may have to skip it do this. i go to pismo all the time, ive never been to big bear (no not even to snowboard, i know im a terrible spoiled lil californian who only goes to mammoth.)

Brian the way you climbed back up pronghorn and based on that scale i say your a solid 4 if not 4-1/2 no armor.

nobody said 5 so well stick with maybe doing pontiac and jacoby maybe if we set up camp and people feel more adventurous we can do a gold mtn and/or dishpan late afternoon run. Like my motto, if it gets too hairy we can always turn around...

So i guess we can do this as an official trip for AUGUST 12-14? People can arrive the 12th to camp so they dont need to get up at "o'dark thirty" to make the meeting time Sat morning. We will meet at 9AM at Kmart in Big Bear on the 13th and do a run from Baldwin Lake to Rattlesnake Canyon(2N02) down to Burns Canyon(3N03) then we can wheel Tip Top and/or Pontiac Sluice. We can then go do Jacoby Canyon trail up to Holcomb Trail (3N16) and camp on the west end of the area near Big Pine or Crab Flats area. That evening we can hang out, bbq, maybe do some trail running in the area.

The next morning we can run Coxey Truck trail to the back way to the hot springs. Spend a few hours in the area swimming, cliff jumping, and hanging out in the hot springs the disperse from there. (we would end in Hesperia)

I will take Friday the 12th off to do some level 5 trails if anyone wants to come up early to play.

yes. you should have no problem. there are a few tricky spots on jacoby but nothing that would cause damage if you are careful. there will be a few 4x4s so if you need a tug youll be set

This run makes me want to go get my 88 yota just to test out the 4wd. But that might be too far to be riding dirty.
