Oskar here is the jump I was talking about... if you look at the video you can see this is after the main straight away full of jumps after this is just a flat straight away. We can try and get a spot here so that we are close to the highway and can get out easier.. what do u think?

Guys, you do not want to be using the race course, even in the same direction as the race (and for sure never against the direction!)... The bikes start very early, and there is a 4 hour gap between the last bike/quad and the first full size racer... They will be spread out pretty good. If you want to see double action (daytime and night time) I suggest along the stretch between Borrego Wash and San Matias Pass where they all run twice with a couple hundred miles between the two laps.

Last year we made it to Point A with no problem on the same day of the race. I'm making another route right now.

 

It looks like a real wet race weekend... mostly on Sunday, however... but a giant storm moves in on Friday.

One year, the Baja 1000 was postponed one day because it rained so hard in Ensenada that the town was flooded. They moved the start of the race to Ojos Negros even... I think that was 1976 or 77?

Mine has coverage 100 miles south mexico, so I'm covered.

 

NOT LIABILITY! You must get a policy using a Mexican insurance company for liability. Your U.S. policy may cover your damages, but not liability. My State Farm is good to 50 miles south. However, I have full coverage through BajaBound.com all year (it is cheaper to buy annual policies if you go to Baja more than 2-3 weeks in a year).

Why Buy Mexican Insurance?

Under Mexican law, motorists are required to have insurance, or "proof of financial responsibility", in the event of an accident, even if you did not cause it. As a foreigner traveling in Mexico, the only way of demonstrating this financial responsibility is to have sufficient real currency to cover damages, or an insurance policy from a Mexican company. U.S. or any other non-Mexican insurance does not cover your liability for potential accidents, nor does it fulfill the basic requirement for insurance according to Mexican law.

Policies from U.S. and all other non-Mexican insurance companies are not considered "proof of financial responsibility" under Mexican law. While a few major U.S. insurance companies cover damages to your own vehicle in Mexico up to a small distance south of the border (usually no more than 25 miles), they do not cover damages to other parties. This is why any U.S. policy must be accompanied by at least a liability-only policy from a Mexican insurance company.
