That trail is pretty passable, not a black diamond at all but expect some rubbing here and there, sliders and decent skids and yer good. Its not much worse than the last incline to the Mine. Heres a few shots form there from earlier this year, this is about as tough as that area gets. I'd still take a bud of course.

Please let me know if you want to go again with a second Tacoma along... I am having 4WD withdrawals and am missing not going to Baja for the 1000 this week. I am (sadly) free most days without any work... so if I have a full tank of gas, I would like to check out the area. Thank you Crom...

To your knowledge do you know if the trail has a name? The one that tracks along the border, the one I illustrated in red? Thanks.

Will do. I've been busy with a newborn at home, so almost impossible to get away. But if something opens up for me maybe around Thanksgiving weekend I'll let you know. I really need to get out and see dirt too. Dirt is very important to me, lol.

I do not know of a name for it, it's definitely the same one, it goes down next to the barbed wire border fence. I just know it as the back way out of Elliot mine.

Just went there this weekend. Super fun trail! We went left at the fork where your yellow line joins the red line in stead of right, as the red line goes. They eventually reconnect, and the left road goes up to an awesome view of the valley. There was also a huge quartz pile and an old cement building there that had been shot up a lot.
We had my truck on 31s and two 2nd gens on 265/75/16's and we all got through there just fine. We all had sliders, though, and I tapped mine once briefly and another truck hit theirs a few times, but it's definitely doable in a mostly stock truck. There was one section that has a very sandy bypass that looks easier but is actually very dangerous because of the slope, so we winched a truck through the end of that but the middle route at that point was perfectly doable.

Here's a link to my pb album with some pics, but I don't have pics from the hard parts...

Edit: Here's a map where we winched: http://maps.google.com/maps?q=32.62...6.101901&spn=0.002331,0.005284&num=1&t=h&z=18
The place mark is on the sketchy sandy bypass. If you go straight up the middle it is much safer.
