for those rolling out next weekend, be advised that the handheld race radios will not work out there very well... with all the hills on the race course, the more powerful the radio, the better...

even at 75 watts we were having issues reaching from one end to another...

    Hey Guys,
Below please find that attachment that contains the Zip File for all the Race trails, mile markers, and, most importantly, the chase trails and waypoints, in KML format.

The waypoints in the Chase KML file have a naming procedure like this: "RX MM ##.# S"

RX means Race Crossing. At this point, you are crossing race course so BE CAREFUL
MM means race mile. At this point, you are crossing the race course at the following Mile Marker
##.# is the mile marker you are crossing at
S/N/E/W is the direction the race trucks will be going when you are crossing this mile marker.

I plotted all the waypoint so when the race truck needs help at a race mile, find the closest chase waypoint to that race mile, and follow the provided trails there.

With KML format, you can drag and drop these files into Google Earth, you can open them in GPS Kit App for your android or iPhone.

When chasing you need some sort of GPS navi. You NEED to have these files to be able to know where you are in relation to the race course and the race truck.

If you have a GPS unit but you are not sure what type of format files you need, let me know and we can figure it out.

If you have a lowrance, the files will need to be in USR format, which i will also provide below:

KML Format Files For Google Earth and GPS Kit:
    MORE Freedom 250 KML Files.zip

USR Format Files (for Lowrance GPS Units):
Freedom 250 Trails and Waypoint in USR Format.zip

If you have an Iphone, get this App:

This is a simple overview of the Race and Chase trails and markers:

The Red trail is the race course.
The Blue trail is the chase roads
The yellow Pin Points are the Chase markers that cross race course
The blue flags are Race Course mile markers

When you drop the files into Google Earth or GPS Kit, you can zoom in and it is much clearer and easy to distinguish between the markers.
