A few things. First, DSM has been awesome so far. Thanks for that. I have been emailing back and forth with a guy there about my situation and what my option are. He proposed this kit

    http://downsouthmotorsports.com/i-5...-4wd-2wd-pre-runner-trd-6-lug-4-5-system.html

....but I have never heard of it before. In all honesty I'm not sure what all it's doing. The only thing I do know is that it comes with 5100s all around and they said it will get me a 4.5" lift. 4.5" would be perfect, but the quality of the icons seems to be more along the lines of what I'm going for if I'm going to pay 2k for a kit. Here is the link for the icon stage 2:

    http://downsouthmotorsports.com/i-8927860-icon-stage-2-for-05-12-tacoma-4wd-2wd-6-lug.html

So it seems the icon will get me a 2.5-3" lift, while the other will get me 4.5. However I'm unsure of what drawbacks the 5100 kit has. Any ideas?

Ok so heres the deal. That RCD lift is a "street" or "looks" lift, the rides is not better and actually may be worse. These lifts are usually used to create a large lift for people that dont need or want a performance lift as they usually just drive on the street.

Now, the icon lift is a performance lift. These are what the true offroaders use. They also dramatically increase the suspensions performance on but especially offroad. The only bad thing about these lifts is they are a bit more expensive and they dont give as much lift but a spindle lift on top of the suspension can cure this. The icon lift is a fantastic lift and they make an incredible set up. Id go with them.

Thanks for the heads up. After talking it over with Marco at DSM and a few of my buddies I actually decided on a full OME kit and I will just add the top spacers that are optional with them so I get the full 3" lift. The truck is still my daily driver, and I have heard nothing but good reviews on the OME kit.

I am going to have a local shop do the work, is it worth me paying the extra 200 to have the struts pre-assembled or will the shop be able to assemble them fairly quick?
