What to do in Palm Springs?

heading there this weekend... what's there to do out there other than bake in the heat?

 

In July?

That's about it.
Lounge around the pool.

I worked the area a few years ago, 128 degrees, down to 109 at night.
I drank 5 gallons of water a day, only pissed once.

Forget off-road without a SOLID support team... one problem with the truck and you're hours away from dead.

Hang around the hotel pool and take in the scenery there, spend a day on top of the mountain.

 

I went to Palm Springs last summer in August. It was 109 degrees at 10:30 at night when we got there. We went to Buffalo Wild Wings and then said "fuck this" and went back home.

 

damn, im gonna be bored as fuck...

you could do the tram ride and go hiking.

 

In 120 degree heat?

you could go to the casino's

 

And stay away from Blackwaters on Indian Canyon & Arenas... unless you swing that way, as the locals say... Indian Canyon & Aranus


Fucking construction crew pulled one on me.
Told me it was a great place to stop in for a drink and check out the women.

Went in, had a couple of beers, no women.
Asked the bartender what time the women showed up.
"Why, when there's all these wonderful men!"

Good question. Gonna be out there this weekend and would like to know too.. The hot weather is good for the wife and her asthma. Gonna surprise her with a little weekend trip.

as for HO HIKING, i could go for some ho's...

 

there ain't shit to do out there, especially in this heat. there's plenty of casinos if you gamble and it's to damn hot to sit by the pool. plus the water is over 80*. you can golf at 5am before it gets too hot.

 

^^^this. great views, much cooler, and i swear the squirrels are as big a cats up there. it's a good time.

 

x3 Take the tram. If your a AAA member you can save a few dollars on the fare. There is a restaurant up there if you want to eat. The views are very good and it's a pleasant peaceful place among the trees.

 

I'd do the Pines to Palms highway up the mountains for a day trip in Idylwild. It's nice up there, even in the summer. Find a lake or something and have a picnic.

GOLF man, i used go there every year in February for like 5 years, there is some of the best golfing on the planet there. Go Golfing!!

In July, he'll be dead before he gets to the 9th hole if he doesn't head for the "19th hole" after the 7th.

This is monsoon season.
It's not a dry heat.

There's only one reason it's supposed to be 107 and not 117... the thunderstorms keep the temperatures down.


But don't worry... it only storms mid-afternoon.
So it's hotter than fuck in the morning, and then just as you're thinking about killing yourself, in rolls a thunderstorm, dumps 2" of rain, and the shitty storm drains in Palm Springs can't handle it so the roads and sidewalks are flooded and you can't get yo your gun to kill yourself.
Then the storm passes and ya, it's cooled the air off, but now you have 6" of stinky water in the gutters and the sun heats it up and you don't need to go to the gym to sit in a steam room... just sit on the curb and wish that your gun had not washed out of your hotel room and contemplate jumping in front of the next bus that comes by.



THAT is 107 degrees in Palm Springs in July!
