We got in by a day JLee... Damn lucky too... I think 75k extra signatures would have been impossible.

 

Thats good to know 100,000 would of been tough.

Another thing to think about...part of the reason for creating OHV areas is to designate areas that can be open to off roading to protect the environment from habitat destruction in other places. As I see it, removing public access to this incredibly popular OHV area is a bad idea not only fiscally but also environmentally because people that once went to Johnson valley will go elsewhere for recreation. That could over crowd other OHV parks and can cause more traffic on other trails, potentially damaging that habitat.
As many in Northern California know, the trails in El Dorado National Forest were closed for 2012 (and maybe they still are? ) to protect the wetlands that they run through from heavy off road traffic.
Just my 2 cents from my take on it as an environmental science major
