I might be out there camping in my usual spot (you guys know where, some of you anyway)

I'll bring a few motorcycles and my Trophy Jeep, lol. I will try and be out there if I can, I go out there a LOT! But I dont camp out in the FC area..

The trick to sleeping in the truck's bed is to use an air mattress, then cover yourself with a tarp (for morning dew or any drizzle). Last time for me was when we went for the lost Santa Isabel mission hike in April, 2011:

My wife and I slept in the back maybe once, when we were too pooped to put up a tent and inflate the bigger mattress... late at night.

Now, we have a new, big, easy-up tent... in seconds! It comes down almost as fast, too!

Here it is at three different beaches in Baja, last July:

Got it at Target (in Vista)... a Coleman 10' x 9' 'Instant Tent' (Sleeps 6):

Video shows it going up in under 1.5 minutes, and taken down and repacked in bag in 2.5 minutes, by one person...
