I wish I could be positive about this - NPS and others want to keep the human race confined to our 'Urban Preserves.' I am just glad that I was able to live in a place where we used to be able to roam. I do appreciate the notice to make sure that I do continue to do it before we are all crowded into what will be the last places to roam free. The key is to do it before they do their final 'round up' where we will be locked up for display of the people that attempted to destroy planet earth.

    :(

If you were upset about removing fire rings in HB - How do you feel about < 50 fire rings in a 5,200 sq mile area?

I've read about half of this, a couple things come to mind, first, they are saying that they don't need EIRs to figure this stuff out, well then how do you determine what actions need to be undertaken without one? They're just dreamin shit up and guessing. Second, a bunch of this is open to public input, if no one says anything then they just gonna do whatever. I understand pack in, pack out, but pesticide free firewood? Stock must be fed three days before entering the park? How do you implement all this crap? Enforce it? Jeesh, it's the Park Service at their best.

That the Park Service is going to "work with firewood suppliers" to provide pesticide free wood, ok, what that means is that the Park Service is going to require the suppliers to get the wood tested for pesticides at a lab, that costs money, they will probably require the suppliers to buy some kind of cert or permit or something, more money, now, you can only buy firewood from these suppliers and no one else, and with a racket like that, what do you think it's gonna do to the retail price? It will be cheaper to take the nicest wood furniture in your house and burn that.

No wood in and no gathering of wood will be the policy. Case closed.

LOL I know a certain yellow covered plastic tote which will most likely have some wood in it from unknown locations.
Pack it in pack it out has been the policy at DV. Same goes for no firewood gathering hence the plastic tote filled with wood.
