Wow, I put the coordinates in Google Earth. It looks like a really cool place to wheel. Just not a place you want to be stranded by yourself without a running truck.

I hope you are able to get yourself & truck out.

Those of us that are 'near' are about 4 hours away. Just to get to where he is, is more than 1 hour off road.

It's about getting your butt and your gear back home to your family and not worrying about spending the money to do that.

Lots of assumptions in here. Dude knows where he is. Stated hes prepared and has multipul options at this point for exit. Sounds likes hes fine. Hopefully his truck gets out ok.

Props for not leaving the truck behind though.

When you LOVE to go out it is not always an option to bring someone. I rarely find someone to go out for just a night. Going out for a week? Near impossible to get a second truck. Ill take my chances and do what I love. I know what my limits are and what way to start walking when shit hits the fan. That's good enough for me.
+1

Unfortunately a lot of my buddies can never go camping when I really need to clear my head for the weekend (thank god the dogs are more than happy to join). If I only planned my trips around when people can join, I would spend every weekend watching TV. Like you stated, as long as you know how to walk your ass out of the woods and what you are signing yourself up for going alone, then more power to you.

Hoping for a safe rescue and cheap repair bill.

I go out a lot by myself. Just the nature of the beast like a lot of peolle have mentioned. I am just more careful and less wreckless when by myself.
