California DMV listing Tacoma as Commercial Vehicle

    Just got a letter from California DMV today and I noticed that my Tacoma 2007 4x2 DD is listed as Commercial Vehicle.

    Anybody else? Am I the only one? Or this is old news?

    California lists all trucks as commercial vehicles. :mad:
    Unless you have a permanant home mounted such as a camper with no way of removing it.

    Yep. All pickups in California are commercial vehicles. The extra fee is based on the weight of the vehicle (I think it's about $80 extra for our trucks). They even acknowledge that 90% of all pickups are not used for commercial purposes. You can put a shell on it like a Leer and get that waviered. It has to be permanent mount though (no j-hooks) and tonneau covers don't qualify.
