    Who is doing a caravan?
When is anyone planning on leaving?

(Yeah, I like to get planning early. Helps with possible contingencies.)

Some of the NorCal guys are doing a caravan too and we might head down through Las Vegas instead of going through Tahoe like last year. Still deciding, but if we go through LV, we may be able to meet up

Also planning on leaving on the 23rd

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm not a fan of sticking to interstates if there is some lesser option (unless time is a factor).

    With that said...

I'm thinking I'd like to jump off the big road before Cedar City. The UT-12 is a spectacular drive. Either take the UT-24 back to I-70, or make a longer southern loop into the south side of Moab via the UT-95 and US-191. Plenty of distractions along the way to get the truck dirty before we get there.

    Anyone interested?

Got my route figured out. Y'all are welcome to join. At this point, it's just me and my 6yo son.

I do all my trips expedition style. This one will be no different.

Time to brush up on your mapping skillz, boys and girls!

Afterburners on to Big Water, UT (thinking I-40/US-89, rather than I-15...but subject to change).
North up Cottonwood Canyon Road through Grand Staircase-Escalante NM to Cannonville, UT.
    UT-12 east to Boulder, UT.
Leave Boulder via Burr Trail southeast to Bullfrog (depending on time, possibly bypass Bullfrog by cutting across toward the Henry Mountains).
    UT-276 north to UT-95.
UT-95 southeast to Natural Bridges NM.
Elk Ridge trail northwest across Bridger Jack Mesa.
    UT-211 into Canyonlands.
Lockhart Basin Road north into Moab.

Camping 100% of the way, most of it away from a campground.
First night along Cottonwood Canyon Road (plenty of big, open, primitive spots), maybe as far as Kodachrome Basin SP depending on how we're feeling and making time.
Second night would be somewhere between Boulder and the Natural Bridges area.
If there's a third night (likely!), it would be somewhere between Hite and Lockhart Basin Road. A third night would get us into BFE on Tuesday.

Return trip is high speed back home, in as short a time as possible.

    Changing things up a bit.
Joining the NorCal group as they pass through Vegas on Saturday. Camp with them at Zion that night. Hike The Narrows on Sunday. Then split with the group so I can run the remainder of my original route (Burr Trail onward......possibly exchange Burr Trail for Noton Rd. depending on time).
Anyone is welcome to join me.

Thanks man. I hope I have cell service at the entrance so I can reference this when it makes more sense.
Anything I should know about getting there from the south? Taking the back way inot Moab.

after hole in the rock you climb a hill...when you reach the top, you'll see a sign for an intersection...that should be your pole canyon turn...you'll see a large dirt parking area on the right along that dirt road with a sign kiosk...that's where buggies park their tow rigs when running coyote canyon or if they don't want to drive their tow rigs into BFE...
