Hi Tom... You are about to learn how great a truck you have... Just get out there and do it in 4WD!

I see you got yours at the same dealership as mine (got in last month)... I took mine out to Ocotillo Wells first and was thrilled at the new limited slip drive options and how well they did in 4WD... More exciting was going to Baja (south of San Felipe) over New Years and really giving it the test!

Without needing to deflate the tires (as always before in Baja), I could just drive like I was on pavement over the deep sand, in H4. I de-activated TRAC (VSC Off) and got the truck 'stuck' on purpose... Then put it in L4 and A-TRAC and locked the rear differenmtial (for good measure) and the truck just drove itself out of being stuck in the sand!

In the past with my '05 and '01 Tacomas (with open differentials) I would have needed to clear away the sand from the tires and dropped the pressure to 10 psi, to get out!

Here she is, 25 miles south of San Felipe:

Hope you enjoy yours as much as I am!

You missed this line, above: "More exciting was going to Baja (south of San Felipe) over New Years and really giving it the test!"

I have a Baja web site: http://vivabaja.com if you like Baja and off roading!
