Mountain Bike Help

I have a chance to buy a 2004 Specialized S-Works Enduro for $1500. It was only used a few times by the previous owner. The previous owner is a co worker and I trust him. He wouldn't see me junk but I have no idea what the value is. I know there is a brake recall on these and it has no been done. Is it worth it?

retailed for close to $5k back in 04 according to bikepedia. i'd shoot him a grand for s's and g's but if it fits you and is in good shape then it sounds like a good deal.

That's a nice rig,will it suit your riding needs? It is six years old. I say borrow it,ride it take to your local trails and even a bike shop, see if it needs anything and ask them for their opinion. I've bought bikes on "a good deal" and later re-sold because it was a wrong size,didn't feel right or changed too many parts
