They definitely have moose up in Maine. I have seen plenty in my travels to go or while snowmobiling. IDK how they compare in size with those up in Alaska as I have never been there.

Our moose are 6-8 feet tall. They can easily jump 8 foot fences.

 DON'T KILL TEH MOOSES!!!!

Having lived in AK I can tell you that our moose here in the Rockies are quite a bit smaller. The average bull down here is about the size of a small cow up there.

Haha I'll have my net in the copper river this year as I do every year. Its amazing how popular those salmon are. Everywhere I go in the states "WE HAVE COPPER RIVER SALMON!"

I've been fishing there all my life, so it's kinda dunny to see it as anything other than the local fishing hole.

    Jealous of you guys :(

If I get a chance to make it back up to Portsmouth this year, I'm going to prepare myself a little better to get out into the countryside, and maybe take a day off work and drive a little deeper into Maine. I just hung by the coast this last trip. Kittery Trading Post was awesome though !!! That place is like REI on steroids !!! I liked it better than L.L. Bean

KTP is pretty cool. Expensive though. Lots of logging roads/ class VI's in Maine, but they are pretty far up.

Gotcha... I don't take the Taco up there, so I'd be hiking any trails or logging roads.... Looking on Google maps, there's got to be some great fishing up there because there's a lake or pond like every 10 miles, haha, might give that a try as well. Wouldn't mind doing a camping trip up there either, but I think I want to get out west first if I'm going to take any considerable time off for that sort of thing.... I envy the people that live up there.

It's awesome hiking/camping/ fishing up there. Go far enough north and you can see northern lights on occasion.

If you want some great hiking/camping/fishing that's a little closer to you the Presidential's in NH are great. Mt Washington and the surrounding peaks are covered in trails, campsites, good fly fishing, etc.. And white mountain national park is beautiful.

If you really want get out there a good trip is doing the Allagash river in northwest Maine. About a hundred mile or so paddle. Have to take about 50 miles of logging roads top put in where we usually do. Generally takes about a week depending on if there's a headwind or not. Absolutely gorgeous, and not many people around.

Yeah I took the picture and had to drag my wife away lol. She wanted to bring it home and name it Bambi - she has it's whole life planned out and how we were going to domesticate it and bottle feed it. Have a ceremony when it met a buck and see them off together (did I mention she is a dreamer?)

I had no intentions of being around when Momma decided to come back.
