I'm planning on heading up to the hope valley area in August for a week, we plan on at least starting our trip at blue lakes and explore out from there. we've stayed at sorensons before but haven't camped or really explored, anyone have any suggestions on hikes, 4x4 trails, canoeing spots, non campground camping spots, fishing, or...?

Was at Spring Canyon Campground for a week. It is just up river from the Grand Coulee Dam. Had fun with the exception of high winds and some rain the first couple of days. And rolling a waverunner.

Tents that come off the rear of the trucks always concerned me. What if you need or want to start the truck for any reason?

I just readjust the strap so it was away enough. I had to start my truck a couple of times and nothing was harmed.

Anyone use a bag liner in their sleeping bags? I've been thinking of getting one to A) help keep my bag clean and B) add a few degrees of warmth when I need it.
I tend to roll around alot in my sleep so I'm worried that I'll end up with my arms and legs all constricted by the liner  Do they stay in place pretty well?

I've had good luck with a light bivy sack or bag cover. I've used an Integral Designs bivy for years with numerous bags inside. They are not restrictive, add a water-resistant outer shell, and keep heat trapped in. I have used a down 35 degree summer bag in way below freezing temps - it really works.

At one point, I did have a homemade liner for two bags zipped together. It worked ok for a 7 month bike trip in Europe. I have not had a single width one inside my bag. Seems like it would be a pain to keep everything straight.

    I'm spoiled though.

I have an alps fleece bag liner, does add a little warmth and I find that it slides inside my bag pretty well so when I twist and turn at night while sleeping I don't get all twisted up in it.

Pretty damned close to the one I have except that one is microfiber, and it is a sssssmoking price on a bag liner

    Yes, I know you're spoiled :p
And I don't want a bivy since I'm in the RTT...just want a little more warmth for hte chilly nights
My name is Lisa and I'm a Steep and Cheap addict....that's actually why I was asking about liners, I spotted that deal and a couple others on SAC

I was looking at REI and they have a few but they're all like 50 or 60

You can spill wine on a bivy and it's no big deal. :)

I sometimes use one when I'm on the tail end of summer/fall. Works OK.But like you, I roll around and it's like being caught up in the sheets once and a while. It's pretty nice.

Big tires, big lift, Lots of stuff's.
I use a bivy sack. Just for water protection really because I don't normally use a tent. No bag liner, though some of them feel nice REI had a good selection last year I bought I one for a friend they seem to like it.
