Heading out to Codorus State Park this weekend for some car camping. Hiking, paddle-boarding, camp-cooking and good weather forecast. Man I need this.

Ok truck nuts - I work for Cascade Designs (MSR, Therm-a-Rest, Platypus, etc.) and often get deals on gear and discount codes and random cool stuff.

I can help if you have problems with the stuff we make. Don't hesitate to PM.

I occasionally get stuff to test for a weekend or so, but the product design folks keep a tight wrap on new stuff. I have seen our 2016 gear but not beyond that.

We have found that filling them before sampling the wine helps make it a little bit easier as well. :drunk:

Love your products. I own my fair share of MSR and Dromedary and am a fan of their balance of quality and value.

2 more days until we leave for Yosemite and backpack part of the JMT for 5 days! I can't fucking wait. Pack is re-packed one last time and ready to go for Tuesday's departure. Bear canister is full of goodies for all 5 days, and I'm still weighing in at less than 35 lbs with water, 2 person tent, and fishing gear. Batteries are charged and camera SD cards are cleared and ready.

    Should be a blast!

And i know all about the repacking the pack. I end up doing it physically 2-3 times and then mentally probably 4 or 5 more times lol. 35lbs fully loaded is pretty good too!

I'm usually a mid 30lb's pack myself. Had the pleasure of car camping this weekend. So much easier throwing gear in the bed, sitting around a camp fire drinking beer instead of hauling all that weight over XX miles. I find both enjoyable, just depends on the mood.

I try to go mid 20's to 30lbs myself. Usually do it just in water management more than anything though. And yeah i do like car camping since i can bring everything and just toss it in a bag with no real packing lol. I do enjoy both but backpacking is way more enjoyable to me. And a flask solves the problem of the beer :)

    Nice, where is that at?
And I have to ask: Why are your tents set up in the parking area?

I see people set up their tents in the parking areas quite a bit. Usually its just cause its a level and big rock (just gravel) free area. Most of the places ive seen where it happens...once you are off the pads its uneven ground with roots/rocks.

Cunningham Falls State Park in Thurmont (I think), Maryland. The park rangers would not allow us to put our tents up anywhere outside the parking area. We tried and were promptly told to move them. Something about tree roots, yadda, yadda I cant really remember. Pretty cool place though.
