Week 1-3 Warm up Games / *Mandatory instate Games (1 Bye week)

(Ohio St vs Ohio, WVU vs Marshall, Florida vs FIU)

Weeks 4-11 Conf. Games (2 Bye Weeks)

    Weeks 12-15 Flex Schedule

Top Teams Scheduled against each other each week

This Guarantees that ranked teams will lose every week, allowing other teams to get a chance to make it in and play. Teams not falling in the weekly top group will be scheduled based on a flex scheduled of the top 50 teams, all others out of top 50 can be scheduled and paired randomly.

    Week 12 (Top 24) -- (1 vs 24, 2 vs 23, etc ) – (25 v 50, 26 v 49, etc)

    Week 13 (Top 18) – (1 vs 18, 2 vs 17 etc) – (19 vs 50 etc)

    Week 14 (Top 12) -- (1 vs 12 etc) – (13 vs 50 etc)

    Week 15 (Top 8) – (1 vs 8 etx) – (9 vs 50 etc)

    Week 16 Bye Week

Week 17 Conf Championships* (Either here or at Week 12 and shift everything down a week)

    Week 18 Bye Week

    Week 19+ Bowl Games

This way its a semi playoff system a but you can keep the BCS intact and then know who the real top teams are, and we can get rid of the games that teams play that dont matter towards then end of the season and keep teams like Boise, TCU, etc from playing 1 or 2 semi descent teams and Coasting through there weak Conf.

So in this scenario it is possible a team could play 17 games? That is about 4 too many games.

I dont like the current system that is a given. But the pre-season and conference season is not broken. It is the bowl system. You could devise a playoff system where the top 10 or top 14 teams play for the Championship, and only add an extra game to about 4 schools.

No, teams can have a bye week in the first 3 weeks and in conf play. Teams should play 11-12 games, not including Conf Champ and Bowl Game
