Snowboarding

I am really interested in snowboarding but I have never done it nor do I know a lot about the equipment. I want to get a cheap board as I learn then maybe in a few years get a nicer one and really get into it. Anyone got any ideas for boards and equipment?

 

check out this site if your looking for cheap stuff, they sell one thing at a time for a huge discount. just watch it until you see somthing you like, then later if you get more into snowboarding you can sell your stuff and upgrade to somthing better

Rent. Take a lesson. See if you'll actually enjoy doing it before you spend money on gear

 

x2 i forgot to say do this first! then if you like it by some gear

 

x3 rent, get your balancing down and make sure you like it. It takes time put in to make it work, its not like skiing where you can learn in 1 day.

 

well see, I really want to practice at my house some and c if I like it. I got a pretty decent hill and many more in my neighborhood!

 

Make sure you like it in the Winter by renting and buy in the summer on sale. I bought my board in December and it was 60% off that following summer before the new boards came out.

...I skied 16 years went to boarding 5 years ago, will never go back to skis.

Snowboarding rocks so hard, and carving cutbacks friggin shred...

I got sweet gear for REAL cheap. New Ride board for 75, bindings for 40, burton boots used once for 40.
My bro and girlfriend did the same thing with great success.
Try it first though, as it will take about 2 days to get the hang of on average

 

yeah buy your stuff at the end of the season. there are no deals right when the season starts. i just got back from winter park colorado.

so this was my buddies first time going out on a snow board...he has skied and he all ways whooped my ass skating so i figured he would do fine and he did. but he blew almost a grand....

my buddie busted out 1500 almost on a trip and that was just for him


so RENT first....if your going to a mtn. but i learned on lacal hills like you wanna. i ride a burton bullet with burton custom bindings. its a great set up. but the more you spend the better board you get. its so true.....if you start with a custom tho....its gonna be alot more responsive to your movements forsure. start cheap and work your way up. my setup for board boots and bindings was around 500. get one off the house .com they get you hooked up most the time.
