Sweet! Hopefully it doesn't rain on you. I wade a lot in G-Town. Looking at maybe getting a Kayak.

:rain:its snowing in NM.... frickin Ski season baby, woohooo....! I am just not that pumped for winter kayaking. at least until I live in the PNW...someday.... when I retire =]

I have been meaning to post a pic or two, but here is a video of one of the highlight experiences of my summer... Brush creek outside Kernville, California... so frickin sickkkkk. like kayakers disneyland. Coolest thing I have ever done in a plastic boat, other then the Middle fork of the Salmon in Idaho, which I was lucky enough to get on in august. Its me in the rasta colored boat, looking sloppy cause it was my very first time on that run...

so heres a nice wintertime teaser.....

That looks like a blast! We are coming up on ski season here too. I am not big on winter kayaking I have found. lol I tried taking the yak out a few weekends ago when it was in the 40's and I wasn't digging it too much.

I am going to give this a bump as the kayak/canoe sales are starting to come out. Anyone getting a new boat for the season??? I am toying with the idea of selling my 11' sit in and getting a Wilderness Systems 12' s.o.t. since it will be a little more useful/convenient.

Those are the ones I have. Love them. They are a few years old and the new ones have a coupla changes compared to mine. They were like 600 back then, not sure what they run now. Itchin to bust them out and try out the Thule racks on the 08 reg cab with the boats. Haven't even had them on since swapping the 05 AC for the 08 RC in May last year. Lame, I know :( I feel it. Went camping this wknd too but it was 1 day thing and goproing the mt biking was the deal so didn't bust out the yaks. Next camping trip will be combo videoing for sure. Can't wait.

you will definitely be able to fish and hunt out of that one. Is it the one at Bass Pro? The Ascend 12xt (i think that is what is called).
Nice man! At least you still got a taco though! I can't say the same. :( The newer W.S. S.O.T's are a bit more expensive now but they do come with more features. I was originally going to get the W.S.... and I wish I had now, but they had the one I got on sale... and now I know why. lol

I eyeball that same one every time I go in there. It looks like a pretty damn good yak and I have heard good things about it. Let us know if you get it!

I'd love to get a new Jackson Coosa, but I don't have a thousand bucks laying around. I really like the way those Ascend kayaks look, you will have to give us a review after you've taken it out a few times.

I have had my 11' in the back of the tundra. It isn't too bad. I put it in diagonal in the corners of the bed. It doesn't stick out too bad but it definitely isn't the best way. I have hauled a 18' fiberglass canoe in the bed before too... I won't do that again but the 12' won't be too bad. You can also pick up one of those racks that goes in the tow hitch and it like a T at the top. Just rest the back of the boat on that and strap it down. easier and cheaper than a whole rack system

this is what I am talking about:

that is pretty easy from what I have heard. If your canoe is fiberglass and you have decent woodworking skills, you could make some pretty easily and cheap. A friend of mine made a few for his 18' canoe

Wish that would work for me. Prolly not a good idea to have my tire gate strapped open.
