Actually pretty easy with the built in stern wheel....roll it to the truck, bow up on the back rack, lift up the stern and slide into place. two straps and good to go. Plus the built in 6 can ballast is emptied by the time I get off the river. :D Told you it was my favorite mod...

Are those sit on or in yaks? Mine are some cheap used Bass Pro boats that we bought for starters. We are looking for upgrades for next year. I've read about lots of sit ons but haven't heard of that brand. We are wanting sit on with comfort and good tracking for flat water or mild river trips.

The same shit everyone else has.
Neat. I used to go to the Outer Banks at least once a summer for family vacations when I was younger.

I plan on diggin out my canoe and loading it up on Friday after work and spending all day on the water Saturday fishing.

Do any of you guys fly fish from your canoes?

No. Mostly paddling around sightseeing. We threw out some catfish bait and caught some small ones, nothing to brag about. It was our third year vacationing there and we're hooked for sure.

Too poor to list anything interesting.
Any thoughts or experience on the Perception Triumph (13) vs the Cove (13.5)?

I was looking for a kayak that would be able to carry a medium sized dog. I'm not a big fisherman and tend to enjoy freshwater vs oceans and bays. I'm also a fairly novice kayaker. :anonymous:

Could you post a pic of your kayak lift points? IE, what you are hooking the lift to in the boat? Your layout may have some possibilities for me to free up some floor space. I have 2 15' Scupper Pros I'd like to store a bit differently.

I thought I posted in here, guess it was just the kayak fishing thread.

I have a Ascend FS12T and my girlfriend has a Pelican Tidewater Angler 100.

Hope these help. I bought a 4 pack of motorcycle straps and take them apart and thread the strap through the scupper holes, using 2 straps per boat and lift with the scupper holes. In my mind that's the strongest part of the construction and should support the boat properly. My wife parks her car under them, that way if something fails it won't hit the Taco.;)

Anyone have a perception kayak? I've been looking into buying a touring one for the girl and I and was curious about the brand. Anyone recommend tracks for a camper \double cab setup

Picked this up this past week. Older Old Town Discovery 119 12'. Weighs in at 32#. Took it out this morning but forgot the camera. Runs sweet. Got a heck of a deal on it too.

Anyone from Maryland?? We were just at the Nauti Goose and were walking around the park. Is that the North East Community park?? They had a sand kayak launch there. I think we're going to go back with the kayaks sometime.

From what I've been reading - there's no MD Launch permits there?? Is that true? Is there anything else I need to know about kayaking in Maryland?

Reason I ask...is because Pennsylvania requires launch permits at certain/most sites - it's a 2 year permit and a sticker on the yak. They also require having a life vest (at a minimum) in the yak with you. I think you're supposed to have a whistle also. If you get caught without a permit, you can get fined.

Question - on that section of the Chesapeake.... is it mostly fresh water?? Or...mixed? Is it affected by tides? Anything we need to know before we go?

    THANKS!
