I like your style. I just upgraded from a worn-out leaky 3-man dome tent to a wally world 6-man instant tent (with a bonus Harbor Freight tarp in case of heavy rain). I am going to feel like such a big-baller when I use it on my trip next week.

I would love a Casita or small vintage canned ham style trailer. One day!

I got this at the end of 2012. PO had lifted it and installed 31' tires. I love it.

I went weight distribution. But I need to stop loading the bed if the truck so heavy when I'm towing.
Nice rig by the way. Is it just the angle or are you missing an
    A/C also?

Got this earlier this year from a member here.

2000lb dry sleeps a few. Last trip we had three in it and still room. Wish I could figure out how to put bigger tires these little things on it need to be replaced.

I have an A/C, other side, mine have a side vent. Went camping last two days, everything worked great!!! I am going to purchase a weight distribution hitch I have decided. Any brand recommendations?

I don't know what brand but the WD hitches do help a lot from what I hear from father in law. Also how about air bags. There's a good sale online from a website right now where I got mine. I love them because they are fully adjustable.

    No mods whatsoever!
If you plan on having a bed load of stuff when you camp, I would go with airbags and WD hitch. If you not loading the bed up, go with Timbrens and WD hitch. It looks about like mine did towing my 21ft TT and I only had about an inch of travel to the OEM bump stops loaded. That was with the WD hitch.

I agree. Do both a WD hitch and bags or bumps

Here's my Camping Rig: 2013 Taco; 2015 Viking 17BH Trailer, about 3000# dry; 8ft BIC Boat to fish; (2) 10ft Pelican Kayaks. My whole set up tows easily and is a breeze to maneuver in tight spots. Started exactly a year ago with a goal to camp at all the Texas State Parks first. So far we've done about 20...it's a BLAST!!!

Frankenstein project combining an old Coleman Colorado and a ¾ ton military M116A2 flatbed trailer.

    Started as two seperate trailers.

The Coleman Colorado is really just 2/3rds of a pop-up. It has a sleeping area that slides out to the front of the trailer and then the dinette makes into an additional sleeping area. The Colorado was only made for about 6 or 7 years in the late 80s and early 90s. Ours is a 1988 model and was in what I would call “fair” condition.

The military trailer got a new axle with hubs that match the Toyota boly pattern. The new axle lowered the trailer so it towers relatively level.

How it sits and camps now.

Some awesome stuff one here! We did tent for the longest time on the west coast, moved south and needed an AC. Got the pop up (99 Viking) camper and got the little lady hooked for sure! Then we went for a little more comfort after a few years (2014 RPOD)047.jpg 019.jpg lol.047.jpg
