I have one of the ENEL Adventure tents. It worked great until I installed my toolbox.

Never liked the idea of the bed tent because you have to tear everything down if you need to run out and get something where as the ground tent just stays put. I've got a fiberglass shell now for the camping gear but still sleep in a normal ground tent on an air mattress when camping.

I never quite understood the truck tent thing either. What's the main reason someone would sleep in the bed or on top of the truck rather than just pitch a tent on the ground?

Snakes and uneven ground! My girlfriend and I go playing and camping at the dunes in Wynoka and the last thing I want is to roll over in the middle of the night to a Rattler!

Just did some Tacoma tent camping this past weekend up in the Sierras near Tahoe (Icehouse Lake area for those who know the area). Instead of buying a 'truck tent' I built a platform to expand the width of the sleeping room from bedside to bedside (no wheel wells in the way). I then bought a tent that nearly fit perfectly in the bed on top of the platform. We did leave once to go out exploring so my brother and I just grabbed each side of the tent and took it off and placed it on the ground. When we got back he helped me put it back on the platform the same way, super easy and quick. Why not just sleep with the tent on the ground you say? Ask my wife... ha ha!

The tent hung off the end of the platform about 6" but with the blowup mattress inside you couldn't notice.

You can barely see it but to get in I just brought a small step ladder and put it next to the entrance.

Also, if you're tall... this won't work. I enjoyed it but it was tight with me, my wife and our dog all sleeping in there.
