Players suing the NFL over concussions........

Notice it said "former". When they were earning, (yeah, right) those big bucks they wasn't to worried about it. Ive recently quit a fairly well paying job because it was killing my back. I was worried about long term damage.
The sad part, they will get a bunch of losers (peirs my ass) on the stand and prolly win in court. Which will only add to the stupidity, I'll wager all those guys have squandered millions.

 

the NFL has had terrible concussion policies forever, the NHL is years ahead IMO. The NFL union is also very weak compared to all other pro sports, look at their preseason, i think they play 4 games still, that would be like NHL or NBA playing 20 preseason, or MLB playing 40 preseason. The NHL owners take more and expect more. The players do not have good insurance, pensions, or retirement, compared to other athletes (not us regular people)

however i do agree on the way that they squander their millions, i read an article about a year ago about how (i think) 80% of NFL players are bankrupt within 5 years of retirement. its crazy "A 2009 Sports Illustrated study found that 78 percent of former NFL players are bankrupt or face serious
financial heartache due to joblessness or divorce just two years into retirement. Somewhere between 60 to 80 percent of athletes
in the three major American professional leagues – the NFL, NBA, and MLB – are going broke between two and four years into
retirement,"

 

That says quite a lot about the athletes, huh? I'll bet that baseball bring UP the average. When you make that kind of money, you don't need insurance, pensions, or retirement, gimme a break.

Since the 94' baseball strike, I've not watched any of these pro sports, well enough to keep up with at least. Yeah, sure I go to/have Superbowl parties, but it's not for the game. I was secretly praying there would NEVER be another NBA game, damn...

 

And college is fast approaching.
