it just looks a little rough. If the fork seals/air filter/shock/etc all look good I think 1600 or 1700 would be a fair deal.

This is for anyone that can help me out.

I have a 2008 CRF250R and the sprockets are still in good shape and I just put a new Renthal 520 Works chain on it a few weeks ago. Question is?....my chain has some wobble to it being tight in one spot and being loose in another during a full rotation. My mechanic says this is normal....is it? I thought it was supposed to have the same tension all around?

Yes it is normal. Not only are the sprockets never perfectly round, they are never perfectly centered on the hub, and also the chain will wear unevenly. This all causes the chain to be tighter at some positions and looser in others, and this changes as the chain changes positions on the front and rear sprockets. This is why it is recommended to adjust the chain properly, then give the rear wheel a few spins and check it, always adjusting to be at the minimum slack. If it's a little over the minimum, spin it again and check it. Then spin it again and check it. Do this several times until you are confident that there will always be the minimum required amount of slack, no matter the relative position between the chain and sprockets.

My mechanic told me to check the chain tension on the area it was tight and adjust it from there. So I guess I will always have the loose and tighter spot on the chain?

So my buddy just bought an 07 kx 250f today for 1600 with tax/title transfer. Some guy pawned it and paid toward it for two years, then just abondoned it. So my friend and I saw it and he got a sick deal. 950 below kbb. All he needs to do now is get tabs.

I'll get pics of it tomorrow when we pick it up

Loved it. Ran it with a ultra heavy duty bridgestone tube at 6-7 psi with no issues at all. Grip was crazy and it rode really smooth on the trails.
