He's wrong, do a quick Google search. I when I say "cycle" I mean the battery being charged, and then ran through your model, that's one cycle. If your packs are brand new, I wouldn't run them all the way down the first few times I ran them. It seems to improve the overall life of the pack itself.

How many amps are you charging the battery at? A 5000mah should be charged at 5 amps. The amps will begin to fall when it's nearing the end of a charge.
No harm in doing that. I balance every time I charge.

No, your not going to hurt anything by balancing every time. The frequency, is debated as much as Ford vs Chevy. I've never seen mine more than a couple of tenths of a volt out of balance.

so whats more fun, the RC drift cars or the RC rock crawlers. me and a buddy couldn't decide which one would be more fun (if we had the money to buy em)

its pretty wild seeing the serious guys who do the rock crawling, they tow each other out with their RC cars! but the drifting looks like fun to and those cars get seriously sideways, can almost drift backwards, and can flick around in an instant.

That's what's so cool about RC, it's whatever YOU think is the coolest, be it crawling, drifting, dragging, oval, road course, off road, scale, concours, boats, planes, helis or a combo of them all.

OK, opinions you ask? Well drifting sucks, well, because it's drifting. Rock crawling is like watching paint dry, or grass grow. Any more opinions wanted?

If you're into drifting and rock crawling why not meet in the middle with a short course truck/off-road buggy or truggy/monster truck?

In my opinion the off-road vehicles that have some speed and power to them are the most fun. You can't jump a drift car but you can drift an off-road r/c.

They're pretty much go anywhere, do anything, fun machines.

I noticed after I drifted for awhile, when I moved to short course I would do astonishing good around the corners, i would drift them instead of slowing down!!!!!!

    ^ This!

Crawlers are slow and boring and good luck finding a spot big enough to get a good drift going. Offroad is where it's at... But to each his own.

A couple of buds got crawlers awhile back when Axial first came out, they set up a pretty nice "course" I went over to watch, in five minutes, I was like, "is that as fast as they'll go?" They played with them for a couple of weeks and then sold them. Both are racing 1/8 truggies now. Just not my cup of tea.

I have an Axial SCX-10 and a Traxxas Slash brushless and both of them are awesome. The slash is fun to race and do high speed runs with while the SCX is fun out on the trail or messing around around the house.

Not my thing either. I don't even like watching real life crawling! What's so fun about doing 1mph over a fucking bolder?

I prefer the high speed stuff! haha
