Anyone into R/C?

Imo that isn't a good deal regardless if you have the stuff needed to complete it. If you watch tower hobbies you can get it rtr brand new in the box for $300 shipped when they have there specials.

 

Im looking at it from the upgrade POV that the stock tire compound sucks so those will be replaced along with the wheels, servo is weak and gonna need changed, radio and reciever would be the only real reason to buy RTR. So in the end the amount of money will just about be the same minus all the parts that got replaced. Idk i have been watching craigslist for a fairly nice used one but most have been bashed pretty bad.


EDIT: Bit the bullet and snagged one, they put a 5% disount on it so i got it for $252 OTD. Cedit card is fixen to not be happy!

 

New scx10 will arrive tomorrow..got my 2.2 beadlocks and rc4wd interco boggers already..gotta pick up my metal end links and steering upgrade from a local member and waiting on the lift kit...gunna build a hilux body thats for a tamiya to put on it asap

I really want a scx10 so I can build it to match my truck but I like the size of the wraith. I've had a wraith too and loved it. If I get another one I'm going to throw a hilux body on it

 

Do you check your temps regularly? Figure out what your pinion is and I'll do some reading. If you're smoking motors regularly my money is still on gearing

Hmmm 56/11 is actually geared lower than stock (80/20) and should be pretty good. How many mah is the 3 cell and what motor were you running again and how long has it been taking you to smoke a motor?

 

Unless your just gonna be in the mud alot id stick with ripsaws. Or atleast get a set of ripsaws in R35 compound.

Im gunna be in mud as well as rocks and sand..I love the whole scale truck idea which is why I went with a licensed replica of the real bogger..and they look sweet. .and theyre boggers!!! I may have to go to the 1.9 version though..the 2.2 boggers I got measure 5.5" tall and even with the lift kit ill have to do some cutting..the 1.9 measure a little over 4.5"

 

Yea i like scale, i was gonna get iroks or boggers for my Poison Spyder wraith but im gonna stick with the BFG krawlers in the R35 flavor. Nice rig by the way!

Well my new wraith should be here in a few days and i cant wait. Seems as though the lower shock/link mounts are already flipped to give the poison spyder a lower stance from the factory but im gonna flip the rear upper mount also. My wheel hexes(doest come with for some reason), wheels should be here in a few days also. I need to get tires and a pinion(gonna run 80/19,18) to start. 80/20 is stock. Probaly get servo this weekend to, then just need radio and reciever.

 

Put it through some test today to see what I need to improve..boggers should help alot in mud..def need taller tires and more weight..thing rolls over so easy...and all this plastic suspension and steering has to go!!

 

Flipping the shock mounts is a great little mod! Nice to see that axial learned after the first wraith. Wouldn't hurt to bump the spur up to 86t either. I had mine geared 16/86 and could run a full 5000 mah pack of hard crawling and not overheat, not a lot of wheel speed though but tons of torque!

 

Yea thinking about 84/18 if i can find the spur if not then 86 or 87.

Yea im definately gonna throw some weight in the front wheels of mine and swap some of the plastic stuff for aluminum also.

 

I have a ton of tmaxx/traxxas parts..gunna see what all I can use on the axial tomorrow. .I think I can swap some driveshafts and shocks and maybe some steering parts
