Thats very cool. Last summer one of our sister companies was working on a freeway job with us and had a Deere 750 but I didn't get any pictures of it. It was turned up 30% and burned through about 375 gallons of fuel a day. I agree with you on Cat being the better machines though. Most of the Cats we have are only 325s but they will out perform the 330 and 350 Deeres. Us only having one big machine (the 600) we use our 450s for anything between 25 and 30' and the 350s and smaller for the shallower trenches.

Out here, We have alot of rock, so our machines had a shorter stick. The 365 in the pic was ordered with an 11'2" stick, and we dug around 25' with it, max. I think Cat makes the best excavator, BUT, for loaders, I think the John Deere has Cat beat. When comparing the "J" series John Deere machines to the new Cat "H" series, the john Deere beats them, hands down. Plus, the Cat limited slip diffs dont work as well as the Deere's locking axels.

Yep rock sucks. Around here you can't dig anything with out blasting first. Everything here is solid lava rock. I'll take your word on the loaders, as far as I'm concerned if it doesn't have tracks I don't care to run it. Excavators and dozers ftw.

Not alot of Dozer work out here. On the site, its gonna be Excavators, and Loaders. Maybe a Backhoe here and there. :)

Here's one you'll appreciate-it's an actual Douglas D-C-3 company tabletop prototype from the 40s! I stashed the props so they wont break. It's all aluminum and it's a bitch to keep smooth.
