Anyone ever done this? If so, from Durango or Telluride? Tips, advice, comments?

A few buddies of mine are thinking of doing this summer of 2015. Just looking for anyone that had done it.

It's kinda spendy, I have a few friends who bought the necessary super light weight camping gear, frame packs and do unsupported multi day rides for free!!!

I've been riding for 15ish years and backpacking for just as long. If u have the backpacking stuff splurge on a frame pack for your bike and do a ride unsupported. If you are thinking of a San Juan trip ride the Continental divide Trail! It's a great trail!

Thanks for the info.

I thought it sounded reasonable for unlimited food and shelter.

I've seen prices around $800/person for 7 day trip. I just don't see how someone could do a 7 day trip otherwise...just food alone would be too much to carry.

Thanks!
