    No, the AMA took away the two strokes a few years back, crying shame IMO.

    The AMA never took away the two strokes. It's in the rule books you can still race them.
    The manufacturers were the ones pushing the four strokes.

    Over in Europe, there's an MX class this year just for two strokes.

    No, they didn't actually take them away, just started making them have to weigh in at certain weights (weight penalties). And you can't race a two stroke unless it's on there approved list.

    They allow 250 2 strokes to race with 250 4 strokes in the amateur classes. They are trying to push to let them in pro classes too just because someone on a budget and be competitive with big name 250 4 stroke teams. Would be interesting
