LOL yes it does. Close, strawberry jelly. As soon as the Orioles show up I start putting it out. Some of the warbles hit it too along with the Orioles. Had my first Orchid Oriole this year but it was really early in the morning and had to go to 6400 ISO so it is too grainy. Now I feed the Orioles oranges in a suet feeder and sugar water in the Oriole feeder, the last of the jelly went out yesterday morning. The catbirds are little pigs and the jar is empty.

Great phez shot Ben! A few years ago had one around here, I miss the crackling in the morning of the rooster. First 2 weeks of Nov. a handful of us retired military guys get together in SD to hunt pheasant. I love watching a new dog come unglued when hundreds of them take to the air.

About a month ago I was on the observation deck at a refuge and 2 older retired guys were there with Zeiss spotting scopes. They introduced themselves and started up a conversation. I recognized their names from ebird.com they post most of the bird sightings and hotspots. One of them said after many years his daughter finally got into birding this year and set a goal of 100. He said he told her that unless she was going to take a trip to Florida that would be extremely difficult to do here. I almost said or Corpus Christi, Texas but didn't, figure I would keep that one a secret :) Good luck on breaking 100 your so close!!

From my internship this morning... :D
Wood duck ducklings out of a nest box. Even got to hold one of them! They were so soft and fluffy and really freakin' adorable!

Speaking of fluffy...I've been watching a couple of geese rearing a few goslings. It's amazing to see them. Since they don't fly and live among foxes, I am amazed by how long they've survived so far.

Watched an osprey fishing down in the bay just before sunset today , yesterday an adult Bald Eagle was perched low in a tree in our yard with a raven sitting on the same branch about 1' away from it constantly pestering it till it took off with the raven right behind

Haha, I'd be down there if it weren't for classes and the fact that I need to get to Ecuador. Yeah, maybe fall this year, though! We'll see how long I spend in Ecuador...

They have a lot of goslings out at the area with the wood duck boxes, too! Apparently the goslings will dive underwater when threatened, but when they're too young they're still too buoyant so they can't quite make it fully under :p

I always feel so bad for the raptor when I see that! I've seen a lot of raptors chased off by red-winged blackbirds...those guys are gutsy!

And they live along the banks making their only "escape" into the water.

Lots of adult feathers along the path today.

There is a raven's nest across the street and the babies have just left the nest , the ravens have been chasing the eagles around every day for the last month or sp

"Left" is the bird's left leg, so since he's facing the camera his left leg is on the right of the photograph.
I'm pretty sure the left leg has a blue and a white band, not a metal band
But yeah, I'm thinking hot pink for the right, too, now

Morning around here start with the small birds chirping till about 0630 when the Big Jet Airplanes start taking off from SJC. Then it's the crows that take over. And the little guys are gone.

The little guys come back in the afternoon. Here's one from yesterday (heavy, heavy crop).

Do you need to report the tag number or just that it was tagged? How does that work?
