2015 Formula 1 Season Paddock

Haas bought one of there facilities they had two. All seems to be a ploy to get the 30 million owed to them by f1 at the end of the 2015 season for there finishing position last year. They have to be at all but 3 races this year to qualify for the money they won last year.

 

That doesn't really make sense though because it will cost them more than $30 million to run the team to get the $30 million

They currently owe Ferrari $16 million from last year among other supplier debts

My bad , Marussia owed Ferrari $25 million and it's total debts were $69 million

According to a Forbes report ;

“At the top of the tree is Ferrari, which is owed $25.4 million for supplying its 1.6-liter V6 turbo engines. Next up is $10.9 million due to rival McLaren for providing wind-tunnel and simulator services. The team even owes money to F1’s governing body the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) and its unpaid bill to Britain’s tax authority alone comes to a cool $1.6 million.

"In fact, MGPR owes money to more than 200 companies and they are all listed in FRP’s report. It reveals that in the eight months to the end of August last year MGPR made a $48.4 million (£29.2 million) net loss on revenue of $41 million (£24.7 million) with total net liabilities coming to $68.9 million (£41.5 million."

I agree it would cost more to run the team then the 30 mil that they could recieve if they actually raced. All they have to do is show up and try to qualify for the race if they dont make the 107% rule they dont race. Costs would be much less then normal.

I think they should be forced to pay back there debts before being allowed to race again. Its not ferrari or mclaren thats the money owed is going to screw. Its the small manufacture making one part for them that they owe say 100k to that is going to hurt there business.

I don't think that Renault nor Honda are going to back out especially because F1 is currently using V6's and hybrid tech , and I honestly don't see a return to V8's

 

I think 1000bhp V6 turbo hybrids will stick around for a while but who knows , Porsche is developing a V4 hybrid race engine
