2015 NCAA Tournament Bracket Challenge

I'm an NC State alum. We've been riding the Jimmy V wave since 1983.... Another promising and potentially great team in the tourny, but we haven't had a good tournament run in 5 years now. They play tonight at 920 and I hopefully won't go to bed expectedly disappointed haha.

 

This has been the weirdest tournament already that I can remember.

But congrats that [at least] your Wolfpack won one.

Wichita State and Kansas are both "capable" of going to the elite 8 at least before they run into 9 McDonald's All Americans on one team, Kentucky.

But, they are also both capable of losing their first game too . . . no idea what to expect??

Man, I couldn't hardly sleep last night. . That was crazy.

 

Two of my four brackets currently tied in first place SUCKAAAS!!....... never lasts though. And these early round points barely matter in the grand scheme. All about final four teams... But I'll enjoy it for now.

 

For those that don't know, Kansas through Roy Williams and Bill Self has not been interested in EVER playing Wichita State because it's not in their interest to do so. Kansas already markets well here in Kansas so they "prefer" to go into bigger market segments for recruiting purposes in their non-conference scheduling. So for KU it's one of those nothing to win and a lot to lose. Naturally leaves Shocker fans wanting though . . .

Well, the Jayhawks played about as good as they can today and won easily. My Shockers played about as ugly as they've played all year but still won.

But a win is a win and the game everyone in Kansas wants and never gets is finally on.

Watch it be a complete dud . . .

 

That is very interesting. I've gotten a lot of interest in the past year or so in how all the scheduling goes down. I remember the head coach of WVU earlier in the year taking heat for not scheduling a game against some "rival".

But I like that they'll be meeting, thanks for that insight. I'll cheer for the Shockers. Always kind of liked Bill Self as a coach, but since I went to NC State, hating everything affiliated with Roy, and always cheering on the land grants is how I roll.

We have a tough, tough game tonight against Nova.

You know, NC State reminds me an awful lot of my Shockers 2 years ago when they went to the final four. We were in the 8-9 first round game against Pittsburgh. Then we had to take on the number 1 seed Gonzaga in the 2nd round and beat them. Beat La Salle [a mid-major] in round 3 => I predict you'll get Northern Iowa [also a mid-major]. And finally we beat Ohio State in the Elite 8 to go to the final four.

 

I was in Wichita for the past 10 years. I'm rooting for them and my Ducks.

And my Shockers just "shocked" KU!

Most will say that KU didn't show up but when the Shockers on "ON" their defense does that to opponents.

Now we just have to play Notre Dame and if we survive that . . . [probably] Kentucky!

Pack played great saturday. All year long we've been a team that's been streaky at best, but with "guards that can shoot". which is true for the most part. What has always lost us games is ineffectiveness under the rim with the big guys, which we had saturday night. Defense has been great all year. If we can keep hot shooters on the outside and stay relevant under the basket, Louisville is a very winnable game. hey, we've already done it one time this year.

i was bummed by that. now, i didn't want NC State to have to face them, but i still was rooting for them. VA basketball has been like Duke Football the past few years for me. I don't have any stock in either of them, but it's so cool to see great coaching get rewarded with wins. Was hoping the Cav's could get it done. but what, 1 for 13 from the 3 point line. Just can win those games no matter how great a defense.

I didn't do an ESPN bracket but seeing as how this is the only thread talking march madness here's my paper bracket.

I'm an ACC fanboy but im not cheering for either ACC teams tonight haha. . Hate the Heels and haven't quite welcomed notre dame into the conference personally.
