Pop Up Trailers (Folding Trailers).

Does anyone has experience with these trailers? any advice on owning a new one? I'm in the market to purchase one, I like the Starcraft 14RT, what do you think?

it's not camping if you have A/C

 

In Texas, it is not camping... it is SUICIDE almost anytime, anywhere.

I know what you mean but being in this region all my life, there is not enough BIG trees to get a cool shade.

 

i had one back in the day!!! it really motivates you to tow it somewhere and camp out!! plus if you are married it will make her want to try it!! and she will love it even if she hates out doors!! GREAT SEX IN THOSE DAMN THINGS but the only issue i ran into was when i wasnt camping it was a pain in the ass to store it in the yard!!

 

Let me talk about that with wife, we can expedite the decision ($)... , at least I think is going to fit on my front driveway, BUT I will need to measure to be 100% sure.

 

i would also recomend you buy a used one..... cause we lost interest in it after the second summer... and kinda got stuck with it for a lil while... go on www.craigslist.com and check your state and city or surrounding cities for used pop up camper

 

I have seen several of them with excelent prices... probably a third of this new one... BUT... they are as close as NY, CA, VA, IL... I think they do a lot of RV over there but the ones close (TX -central, east, north) are expensive and most of them from previous smoker users (all of them with A/C).

 

I don't wanna buy one. I've been wanting to find out how to RENT one!

My husband's not much into camping at all and I think he'd enjoy it if we did it once a year or so.... something different.

 

I did found several places where they rent them, this kind (folding trailers) or bigger ones, there is a daily rent fee (as in cars) and the amount will depend on the size of it and options included, from $35.00 to $250.00.

Funny you should post this, I went looking at trailers on Tuesday, still too much, these were "hardtops" 23-25 feet and $14,000 I stay in my tent and deal with the sore backs.

 

Well, everything is fixed with some frosted beers, but NO, there is no place for any of the named alliances here in Texas, we are big enough to stand for ourselves anywhere anytime.

 

I had a 2001 Starcraft 2105 pop-up camper several years ago, before ultimately buying my hardside. I loved the pop-up, but pulling into a campsite once in a downpour and getting soaked while trying to set up camp while the lazy ass ex-wife sat in the truck all nice and dry kind of soured me on the whole pop-up thing. Camping is great, whatever type of rig you choose, but I think you might be able to find a nicely equipped hardside for the same or less money than the pop-up you are looking at, so if you are not opposed to the towing size of a hard side, it may be worth considering.

Well, the problem with a hard side as you mentioned is size (length), I only have a front driveway for two cars and max length for anything parked here is 21ft but not more than 22ft, I'm worry about that if during the first months this entertainment change to a painful experience. This folding trailer has built in an electrical device that make the whole setup "automatically", but again I have no previous experience with them and I know what you mean by saying HEY! I'm alone help me... you b..ch, BUT we are the GUY not the gay, we are the Man... The best part is when you can get out like a hero and you earn a drying bath... a towel might be useful or not.

 

I purchase a '04 Coachman Clipper last year and we love it. It is a 12' box but is 24' opened up due to the 2 king size beds. Has a bathroom and a shower and the dinette slides out so there is plenty of room inside for the 4 of us. Weighs 3100 lbs dry. Been pulling it with a 96' S-10 blazer and have yet to pull it with the Taco. Can't wait to get it out this year and just head out.

Also just have to push a button to raise it. No cranking!!! Uses an electric hydraulic pump.

 

Your folding trailer has several options that I like and some of them are included in the one I'm trying to buy, it is great to be away from home and feel that you have the best of two worlds: Outdoors and Comfort.

 

What kind of pop up are you going to get?
