My first real mountain bike a 2014 T29er Trek Xcaliber 8 and my wife's 2012 Diamondback Overdrive. Looking back at it I wish I would have spent the extra money to get the Xcal 9 or there entry level full suspension. So far they seem like great starter bikes for the wife and I.

Finally got to take the new wheels out! I'll admit, usually I don't claim that equipment makes you better, but going from a 26" GF Wahoo, to a 29er FS....Night and day difference! I really enjoyed my quick 9 miles today! It's been about 2 years since I've been on a MTN bike and probably 3 since I did any serious riding. Really looking forward to putting more on it, I don't really road bike anymore either.

Nice bike. It's pretty crazy how much more speed you carry with a 29er, at least for me haha

Thanks! yeah that's true, I'm terrible at technical terrain so I suck at tight turns either way. I was a little hesitant about the 29er being 5'5" but yeah it's a huge improvement. I would have been struggling a lot on some of the trails, also I think the new rig is lighter than my 26" hardtail. It always felt like I was lugging it up hills.

Cool pic. I love my ss, haven't gotten to ride much on trails yet but I'm planning on putting some miles on it this summer.

The Trance 3 was ~$2k and came with decent components and the Trance 1 was ~$3.5k with way better components. I got a great price on the Yeti and couldn't say no. It should be put together today.
