I'd rather just let them check it out, strip the frame myself and have them hand over the replacement frame so I could build it back myself......but that might just be me though. I enjoy the building and OCD every detail thing vs. having someone else just throwin it together to get done and paid. Either way, sucks for anything like this to happen without a realllllly good reason.

I love my 2011 ex8, but as you can see from my picture above, they aren't invincible haha. I've ridden the 2014 ex8 29er and loved that one too they roll over everything. Have you gotten to ride it yet?
Yeah id rather my shop do it haha. I can do small thing but I've never put together a whole bike so is probably feel overwhelmed haha. Still waiting to hear back from trek, I'm hoping for good news.

I did get a compliment on my riding style from one of the guys at the shop when I took it in haha it made me feel good

I have. I love the 27.5 for maneuverability yet still able to roll over. A lot. Its a fun bike for sure

nice, I'm torn between the two for my next bike, whenever that may be. I love being able to flick my 26 around so I think I would like a 27.5 but I love how I can roll over anything with a 29er. it just feels so much faster, and with a short enough chainstay and light enough bike I don't think it would matter...jumps are what worry me though

on a side note, trek contacted the shop and are sending a replacement rear end, I believe he said both seat and chain stay. should be here friday and rolling by saturday.

    27.5, that is all.

I will most likely go 27.5 on my next bike. It really is "the best of both worlds" if you will.

Though I will say I'm not afraid to launch my 29er off some jumps it probably was not designed for. lol

i personally noticed little to no difference moving from 26 to 27.5...
however i see this as a good thing, maybe it rolls over things a little better, climbs hills a little better, but in the end its not much difference (to me atleast)

I havent ridden a 29 yet but my friend has one and it looks a bit more "clumsy" in the tight corners but otherwise it does fine

Edit: Also went from hardtail to FS so that factors in aswell

I had the same belief about the 27.5 until i rode the 27.5 in a rocky terrain. Then i was astounded as to how much smoother of a ride it was..

So it's looking like a Norco Range C 7.3 will be be my next ride instead of the YT Industries Capra Comp 1. There's issues with order confirmation, payment info, and shipping with the YT bikes. This is because they're sold directly by the manufacturer (in the UK) and some models aren't available yet even though they are taking payment.

I love my Anthem X 29er FS. No clumsy nothing vs. my 26ers. Nothing but better in every respect. More comfortable, climbs everything, just as light and nimble as any of my 26ers in twisty singletrack (FS or HT).

    26" for life!!

all I do is freeride mountain bikes--so the ability to hit abrubt, tight angles gives MUCH advantage to 26" wheels

for a race course/smoothed out single tracks/KNOWN COURSES--650b is danker

...for backcountry, "Hey, lets hike bikes on our backs to the top of that mountain summit an ride down" style of riding--26 inches FOR LIFE

2013 Specialized Carbon Demo-8 (selling for a 26" coil sprung enduro evo freeride bike)

Hell the fuck yea!! I'll update my post with pictures of my bikes

I love mountain bikes so much..its the only reason I wake up everyday

So then, what's your take on a lot of bike companies changing their freeride/DH bikes to 27.5?

This is my new setup. Used to have the slayer 50 but it got stolen so I upgraded to the 70. Added a dropper post, carbon bars, straitline pedals and some other goodies...

^Alright build^--you need to ditch those forumla brakes and get some shimano XT's||thank me later--also upgrade that fox rp23 rear shock to a rockshox monarch with the dual oil path--again, you will thank me later. Also get some DMR Vault flat peddles--true sign of a ripper is someone who doesn't clip up, IMO (racers!! keepin clipped/pinned up)

Check out some dmr peddles at GoldenBear bike shop--ask for 'Buddy greg' the lead mechanic. Tell him Dan K. from CB sent ya ;)

FOR RACING, WINNING & KILLING FUN--also for casual types that sit down on descents (or worse, have their seat jacked for a descent)

26" is for redbull rampage and TRUE freeride--get with it, brotha :)

Nice bike. Interesting tire choice front and rear, any reason you chose ardent front and Hans dampf rear and not the other way around? I usually run more aggressive up front but that's just me haha
