    Well it's not quite worked out yet. I still need to get the gear. The mechanic believed it was just a cover OVER the existing 44t gear but it's not. So I still need to find a gear. And seen as how I have given them plenty of $$$ so far I was hoping I could just get one of the e bay for cheap.

    Aaron, you can just have it for the cost of shipping once I get it all sorted out.

    Can someone tell me what BDC in relation to these rings I am looking at on ebay and if/why it matters?

    Should be 104 mm bcd. Actually I can send you the 44T I took off. It actually shows very little wear. Will you have to change your front derail to accomodate 3 rings?
    BCD (bolt circle diameter) is just the measurement of the mounting holes which are usually shared by middle and big ring. And the small ring usually has it's own, I think typically 64mm.
