    The first 2 are on my Gary Fisher hardtail and the sencond 2 are on my 06 GT I Drive 5 4.0, and im the seconded rider in the video. These are all trails in Korea, exept the ramp that's in the skate park on base

    I bought a couple of M bikes yesterday one for me, one for the girlfriend, they came very cheap at walmart 99 bucks each.... Mongoose brand, aluminum double suspension, since we want them just for excersicing together they are fine, if the sport grows on us, then well get some better bikes....

    sorry hot dog, i gotta disagree with you on this one. full suspension definitely has its place. for light trail riding a hard tail is all you need. But i have 5 inches of travel front and back on my bike and i have used it all. it is definitely a trade off though. full suspension does not climb nearly as well as a hard tail. and i agree that inexpensive full suspension bikes have cheap parts, but you can always upgrade as you go. i have a nice bike but it came with a light weight front fork. i busted it after the first few rides and upgraded to a Marzocchi All Mountain 3. it all depends on what kind of terrain you're gonna tackle, but i'd say for the most part hard tails are all you need. either way upgrading is always fun so i say go for a good frame with cheap components

    I guess I should clarify...don't get a cheap (under $1200) full suspension, unless you need one. I choose to ride full suspension, but mine are on the higher end. A cheap full suspension will have a heavy frame and cheap rear shock. You'd be wasting your money upgrading a crap frame. The best deal anyone can get on components is right when you buy a complete bike. Trying to upgrade part by part can be an expensive endeavor.

    I choose full suspension for multiple reasons...number 1 being I'm a lazy rider. A hardtail is great if you have the energy to stand up over every bump, but I have a tendency to sit and crank it out.

    Many hardtails climb better than a full suspension, but not all. My Klein Mantra climbed better than any other hardtail I have ridden. The suspension worked in such a way that the suspension pushes the wheel down when you stand up. That's the one bike I regret selling.

    FS is the way to go! Even most XC bikes are now FS, once again you can't go cheap $1200 is where decent FS bikes start, and with shock and frame technology climbing the most technical epic with a 5inch travel bike is no problem. My Gt is gets 5 inches front and rear, and with the front lock out I have no problem climbing technical stuff, ANDDDDD with most new shocks they come with lockouts, so you get the best of both worlds, a sick all mountain rig that can descend like a DH bike and climb like an XC bike!

    but if your serious about gettin into the mtb thing look at the Haro Flightline expert. it's a $800 hardtail that has gottin nothing but good reviews for it's class, and for FS look into the GT I drive series they start at about $1000. I have a I drive 5 4.0 and love it (almost as much as my Kona Stinky Freeride bike!)

    I need to find some good trails in my area. When I was younger I used to beat the piss outta my bike on some local trails. But because of construction in my area all the trails are now neighborhoods. :mad:

    Mountain biking is the ultimate off-road experience, plus you get super-fit. I don’t think there is anything more annoying that off-roading in a pickup truck. A cheap starter bike is fine but if you get into the sport plan to spend 2K minimum for a good full suspension. I’ve got about 3K into mine. Hard tails suck period. The new higher end full suspension bikes are so good you’ll outperform any hard tail. Plus your ass and back won’t be killing you at the end of the ride. All my buddies own 4x4 pickups or Subaru’s. The reason is get up to the mountains to ski, snowboard, or mountain bike.

    Toytec ultimate lift kit, light racing UCAs, ARB bumper and full skid plates underneath. Looking into redoing the suspension and maybe repainting the ol' Taco.
    Also, being in fort worth, check out dorba.org they have like 15 trails around Dallas (there is a Ft. Worth group, but I don't remember the website) that are all pretty good. There is a very nice flat trail that is great for beginners over off Northwest Hwy and Luna road.
