I am 22 and in college. I am getting paid to go to college and have a good savings account for my age. I have my truck paid off and the only debt I have is a $1000 credit card I use to purchase parts and build credit. I recently came into a monthly payment of $550 which I don't need to live off of and want to put it towards investing each month. Basically I don't want to become accustomed to seeing that money and would rather act like I never had it to spend. I would like the option to use the money if I needed to though.
I have no retirement savings outside of what is in my savings. I would like to learn how to get into the stock market. I also receive a large sum of scholarships each semester that go unused (3-5kish) and would like to be able to smartly invest that. I am a freshman and graduate school is very likely with my major(wildlife biology) so I am likely to toss some cash towards that time in my life since I don't know what my financial needs will be in 4-5 years.
So where do I start looking to become an investor? Please don't say something like google it as there is a lot of bogus information I could run into. Posting a website would be appreciated and repped. I know there are people I can talk to about investing that will do the work for me but I would like to better educate myself and be in control of the cash.
