Diamonds are a very tightly controlled market and the value depends on limiting the supply. You could argue there's some price fixing in this market :D

As far as the dollar being virtual even remotely? I'd have to disagree with that.

Well I guess you guys are right, they are just high priced rocks though. But at least when you have a diamond you can pawn it.

Rocks that people want to buy and whose value is both market driven and controlled by De Beers of the world.

    Bingo.

    Diamonds are a HORRIBLE investment.
There is an unlimited supply. When they are mining a lot of smaller pieces, the cost (not value) of the larger stones goes up, and we start seeing advertisements for tennis bracelets.
When there is a surplus of larger stones, we see more of a push for the solitares.

There are very few markets that are more controlled than diamonds.

    Yup.

And yesterday, ONE business announced that it did not recognize them and the value dropped by 30%.

Ya, that's an investment I believe in.... NOT!

    Ditto.

Bitcoin was the first, and as soon as the rest even show promise of increasing in value, China will shut them down as well.

I thought that is what you want to do with any investment. I do find it funny that 3 weeks ago it was the best thing since sliced bread the future of the world and everyone should get in on this and now its dropping at a faster rate than it climbed.

It's at 750 right now. It is revolutionary and all the statements before I stand by. It is hard for something new to prosper when a whole countrys Gov't is trying to shut it down. China said no. Then they REALLY said NO! Didn't drop to single and double digits. That means people are still using it.

There is a lot more to BTC and Crypto's if anyone genuinely is interested in it. Read up on it. Watch the videos. Research it.

Everyone says, "told you so" - those are the same not willing to do the leg work or pull the trigger and take a risk.

Normally I do not gamble. I like to research and see what a sure thing is. In this case, I came out on top and am more than delighted. hahaha - I am actually "lighted ;) - Rigid gear.

For less than the cost of a tank of fuel, I ended up with 2 full tanks and all the lighting I wanted for the truck. Only thing I would have changed is picking up MORE initially.
