    Had to chuckle to myself.
Funny thing is, if we could get the dealer to install all of the aftermarket stuff on our trucks what would we do next? We'd take our shiny aluminum wheels and paint um black. We'd lift our lowered truck and lower our lifted truck. If they added a canopy or toneau we'd take it off. If we didn't have one on the truck we'd put it on. I guess in the end we want to personalize our rigs so that it stands out from the next guy. Some more and some less.
Same thing happens in the home with the stereo, computer, tv, etc. Even in the way we dress. We just gotta do what we gotta do.

About the only thing we don't do (intentionally) is to try to change our wife or girlfriends. We usually pickem cause of the way they look, walk, smell, talk, and even think. Lord knows the only person likely to survive change in this instance is us.
Course this is a whole new thread and I don't think we really wanna go there. ;)

2.5" lift. Bilstein shocks all the way around, Falken Rocky mountain ats2 265/70/17, BHLM, thrush welded muffler, bed liner undercarriage, fender flares and rocker panels, nfab light bar, led off-road lights, grillcraft grill with old Toyota emblem, secondary air filter removed, cb radio, extra hooks in bed, removed front mud flaps, painted pinch weld black.
It all comes down to personal preference. I'm a fan of lifted trucks myself. Go with what you feel.

    4x4 OFF-ROAD... that is all I need...
Only lowered 4x4 trucks are dumb. If I saw a lowered DC with 22s, then it's ok as long as it's just a 2WD. I saw a lowered 4-door 2009 Tundra w/ 22s on the fwy and it looked pretty nice.

I can't stand lowered trucks--I agree that that's what a sports car is for. Custom wheels, loud exhaust and all, sure--looks good, sounds good, doesn't affect performance negatively. But slamming your truck? I'm from Alaska, dude--get a real truck. What good is something you're going to high-center on a goddamn pebble?

I enjoy my lowered street/track truck as much as my prerunner.

It is kind of cool to suprise the "sports cars" and leave them wondering how a farm truck out ran them on a road course.:D

Everyperson out there has thier own reasons. i went to a car show at a mall where i live and thee were some slammed trucks, along with lifted and drag tucks. some do it for fun, others so they can fill the trophy case at home. I will be lowering my truck in the near future, but that is becuase i wieghed my opions. 1. there are no good trails for me to go offroading. 2. my city is loaded with smack talking ricers. 3. I want to make my tacoma one of a kind.
